RICHSELF PERSONAL WELLNESS PROGRAMME – IN 9 ONE HOUR WEBINARS (1st ONE FREE) Based on the book written by Alan and Margot Brews and facilitated by the authors.

What is wellness?

Wellness is not a new concept. The ancient Greeks believed that a truly healthy person “possessed a keen intellect, a well-developed will and a disciplined body”. Their ideal of arête was considered a noble state of human functioning, representing the merging of body, mind, and spirit. Since the 1970s, there has been a keen focus on wellness with many models and programmes emerging to assist people to improve their health and lifestyles. The COVID 19 Pandemic has brought issues of self-care and wellness into sharp focus in many people’s lives.

Wellness is defined as “an active process of becoming aware of and making choices towards a more successful existence” where:

  • process means that we never arrive at a point where there is no possibility of improvement,
  • aware means that we are continuously seeking more information about how we can improve,
  • choices mean that we consider a variety of options and select those that seem to be in our best interest, and
  • success is determined by each individual to be their personal collection of accomplishments for their life.

The eight dimensions of Wellness covered in the RICHSELF programme are illustrated in the diagram below:

There are 5 core aspects of Wellness:

  • Wellness is about making conscious choices toward the development of a proactive and positive lifestyle assuming self-responsibility for one’s development.
  • Wellness implies a continuous process stretching across one’s lifespan.
  • Wellness is not prescriptive or judgemental. Goals for personal wellness are defined by the individual and not measured against any external standard.
  • Wellness refers to well-being in all spheres of life. Challenges in one dimension of life affects the whole of our lives.
  • Wellness is not concerned with the absence of symptoms or disease. It’s about maximisation of potential and is therefore different for each individual.

  • Webinars will be offered on the dates indicated below and the price for each webinar is a nominal R150 excluding VAT for South African’s and $10 US for international participants. This is a special price to help people kickstart or enhance their Wellness Journeys during the challenging days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Every participant who registers for the whole programme will receive a soft copy of the book RICHSELF™ (your choice). A hard copy is available

This module is an overview of Wellness, the RICHSELF™ concept, why is it important, becoming aware of my own wellness, and how to achieve the desired changes in all dimensions of life?


Module Two: Relationships: Wed 13 May @ 7pm SAST (6pm GMT)
Dimension One: Relationships – What is the state of my relationships? How do nurture relationships at home, at play and at work?

Module Three: Intellect: Wed 20 May @ 7pm SAST (6pm GMT)
Dimension Two: Intellect – What is the state of my intellectual development? How do I enable my intellectual growth?

Module Four: Career: Wed 27 May @ 7 pm SAST (6 pm GMT)
Dimension Three: Career – How happy am I with my career? Why is this important? How do I take responsibility for my career?

Module Five: Health: Wed 3 June @ 7pm SAST (6pm GMT)
Dimension Four: Health – What is the current state of my health? Why is it important? How do I take responsibility for my health and become physically well?

Module Six: Spirituality: Wed 10 June @ 7pm SAST (6pm GMT)
Dimension Five: Spirituality – What is Spirituality? Why is it important? How can I best practice it?

Module Seven: Emotions: Wed 17 June @ 7pm SAST (6pm GMT)
Dimension Six: Emotions – What is my Emotional state? How do I become Emotionally well?

Module Eight: Leisure: Wed 24 @ 7pm SAST (6pm GMT)
Dimension Seven: Leisure – How much fun am I having? What am I doing to relax and enjoy life? Why is it important and how do I make it happen?

Module Nine: Finances: Wed 1 July @ 7 pm SAST (6 pm GMT)
Dimension Eight: Finances – How satisfied am I with my financial situation? How do I become Financially Competent and Well?
